Because of the way weeks and months work they don’t feel have even numbers of weeks in ever month. He will turn another month old on the 2nd of each month. But for weeks it will line up with whatever day the 2nd was. So for your son will be 3 months on the 3rd of December but that works out to 13 weeks
I go by his birth dare for knowing how many months old. It's good to know how many weeks because they change so much week to week but if you kept going by how many weeks old they are till they're 1. They're technically 1 before they're actually 1

I go by dates for the months age (mostly when talking to friends/coworkers/family) and weeks for like doctor’s appointments

There are not 4 weeks in a month so you can't use them in the same way. My baby was born on a Thursday, each Thursday he is another week older. He was also born on the 24th, so each 24th he is a month older. Usually count in weeks until about 12 weeks, then months after
My son is also born 2nd of September, but 2023 😅. I'd say he will be 3 months on 2nd December. When he gets older it's harder to keep track of the weeks so easier to go by month instead

I think from 12 weeks old you then go by months! So from the 2nd December he’d be 3 months. Sorry if that doesn’t help lol it’s so confusing
