Eufy or Owlet sock

Hi everyone. I am a first- time mom due in Feb and was wondering if anyone has experience with the Eufy/ Owlet sock and which they prefer and why :)

I have the Eufy sock and have been using it for a month now, it works great tracking the heart rate, oxygen level and sleep time. I love it and I haven’t had any issues with it so far.

Didn’t even open my owlet sock box & I dislike the baby monitor🙄

I’ve heard that the owlet has caused burns, and also has had some FDA issues leading to discontinuation. I know nothing about Eufy tho.

@Gloria thankyou:) i have been looking into them especially with black friday sales and looks like Eufy has been more reliable from what I have seen

@Asia aw thats dissapointing! I have the eufy monitor on my registry bc i believe when i did research on the cameras with zero/ rarely any hackings it was on that list. I might be just a wee bit paranoid lol

I got the owlet and used it maybe one night when my lo was maybe 1 1/2. He’s 7 months now and still have not thought about it until now😅

I had the owlet sock and used it for my son for the first 18 months of his life. It was genuinely such a relief to have it especially when he was younger and sick. I plan on using it with my second. As long as it’s kept clean and you switch feet once a week I didn’t get any burns.

Also the issue with the FDA clearance was because the sock was technically considered a medical device but wasn’t being sold as one at first. It took longer for them to get the proper legality stuff to be FDA approved as a medical device. Now it’s been approved.

I haven’t used anything or decided what I want to do. But I’m looking into the nanit as an option

I don’t like the Owlet monitor so I would probably go with the Eufy

I have never used a eufy so I can’t speak on that, but I did have an owlet for my son and it was great for peace of mind. I do not regret the purchase and plan to keep it in good condition so it can be used by another baby!

Btw owlet and eufy both use infrared to measure blood oxygen. This is the same thing that any oximeter would use. Therefore, one is not more likely than the other to cause a burn, and also infrared does not cause burns anyway. I think the “burns” that were cause by a monitoring sock are more likely to be blisters, which can look indiscernible from burns.
