@Katie it’s so frustrating isn’t it?
Same here my 22 month old has point blank refused all hot meals for the last week or so but will always eat his breakfast so I know he’s getting some food in him throughout the day but as long as they eat something each day I shouldn’t worry too much they’ll eat when they’re hungry
My son seems to be starting to come out of another phase of this but has also just cut the 1st of the 2nd set of molars so I think that may have had something to do with the loss of appetite. He's never been a huge eater though and I struggled with the food waste a lot so all I do now is a slightly large portion of dinner for myself and pop some on a separate plate for him. If he eats it I'll give him some more from my plate and he seems to love having food from my plate lol if he doesn't then I don't feel like I've wasted much
My son is the same- he eats fine at nursery but nothing at home, even when I prepare the same things. It’s been going on for 6 weeks now & the food waste is insane. It’s starting to scare me honestly, but I guess if they’re eating something it’s ok?!
My son is exactly the same! Very fussy, will eat something one day and not the next 😪 Doesn't really eat fruit and vegetables except a banana. He is at nursery 2 days a week and eats better for them, I have no idea why but hoping it won't last to long as very frustrating 😕 x
Highly recommend following (Instagram) Kids.Eat.In.Color and Feeding Littles. They're both American but they specialise in picky eating and nutrition from infant to 12yrs. Rule of thumb is keep offering variety and routine, figure out a few "safe" foods, and leave it up to the kid. You only need to really intervene if your child is losing weight/dropping centiles at which point you should see a doctor anyway. I also found Carlos Gonzalez book My Child Won't Eat very comforting in terms of inconsistent and small appetites, and having these two on my Instagram has really normalised toddler eating behaviour which is helpful
My little boy has always been a good eater but last couple of weeks is refusing everything. I hope this phase passes soon ….. so stressed right now 😩😩😩
We have always struggled with solid vegetables, meat and some solid foods but lately he refuses most meals. He always eats a lot at breakfast and is at nursery 4 days a week, eats his hot lunch there and sometimes the afternoon tea. So I'm trying not to worry. Plus we've just seen he's cutting the first of his 2nd molars and I think that's affecting him as he won't eat apples like he did before. We just keep offering whatever we are having and some things we know he used to like
Same boat. It's so stressful
