Dark circles

Hi My 3 year old stopped eating proper food since few months .. he is very very pickly eater and hyperactive.. Now he has developed dark circles under his eyes. The only healthy item he has is the liquid before and during his sleep.. i usually give him ragimalt at that time .. Is any of your kids same? How are you ensuring to make them eat healthy?

My daughter most of the time only eats 2 meals plus snacks. I try make a fruit smoothie (frozen fruit and milk) which she loves. She also has dark circles

What causes dark circles?

Does it indicate any vitamin deficiency

I asked my doctor and got referred to a feeding therapist. But ultimately I learned that my son wanted consistency in his foods. Which can be difficult for homemade foods. Start with a list of foods likes now. And another list of foods you think he’s dropped in the last 6 months. This will help any doctor or therapist you speak to.

This may help you start at least an idea of where to start. Definitely talk to your pediatrician.

Yes it can sometimes indicate a vitamin deficiency. We found with our daughter after paediatrician requested bloodwork she was extremely low in iron (she has major food aversion even hard to get her to drink milk or water). As pre dr recommendations we have to supplement her however that’s pretty near to impossible when she won’t eat or drink on an average day. If you are concerned get bloodwork done for peace of mind.
