@Becca thank you so much, that's put my mind at rest a little bit. I hope your recovery is going wellđź’™
Elective C Section , recovery is generally quicker than an emergency one
@Sarah yeah I do want to kind of avoid a section this time though just because my recovery was crap first time and now with my toddler
I think section recoveries can be quicker sometimes.. a friend of mine had a tear that took 7 weeks to recover from, where as my recovery was 2 weeks so I think it can really vary

My second c-section I recovered SO much better than my first, both were emergencies. I was able to pick up my son after a week or so, before that my fiancé would put him on my lap or next to me and he wouldn’t know any different. I’m now 4 weeks postpartum and I’m on the floor playing with him, cuddling him, running around after him! I also really really struggled with first time round with recovery and that’s why I was so set on a VBAC as I was worried how surgery would affect my son. But it hasn’t affected him at all and I’m feeling a lot better. Hopefully this reassures you that even if you do need another c-section, it doesn’t mean it’ll be the same experience as your first! If you take that first week really easy, rest up, limit movement and prioritise recovery, then you will thank yourself in the latter weeks! Don’t push yourself 💕🙏
