Finger foods

Anyone else not yet started on finger foods? My LO won’t eat them, I put bits of toast or melty puffs in front of him that he will pick up, but he just hasn’t grasped the concept of putting the food in his mouth, he just plays around with it then eventually drops it, so I’m struggling to get him to eat any finger foods. He’s still on Ella’s kitchen pouches and purées. Any tips for how to get baby to put food to their mouth?

I personally feed him myself, but mines the same unless I show him to eat, like I would take a bite and then offer it to him. He opens his mouth more when I offer it to him otherwise just keeps squishing food and playing with food

I’m exactly the same and feel like such a bad mum because of it! So much on social media when babies of 9 months are eating a whole meal and mine just won’t 😩

Mine won't let me feed him hasent since like 7 months I made so much food in the frezzer and he just wouldn't let me spoon feed him so now he has finger foods all the time sometimes is it just some melty buttons yes or a sweetcorn and carrot stick again yes which makes me feel bad but sometimes that's all he wants but then other days he has peppers and fruit cheese and proper food, but other days he dosent want anything but they say food is just for fun until they are one years old so aslong as they are happy and fed then you do what they need and want 😊

Following as same, I have recently just switched to trying to feed home food before milk though and that has made a massive difference. Although I have noticed he just wants all the fruity flavoured things. He’s not into the proper meal pouches (I though it was becasue of the lumps) but just realised it’s not because he has baby rice and porridge and there probably a little bit more lumpier so it must be the flavour, with them having more flavours in them and herbs etc) 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Hannah Me too, social media definitely doesn’t help! All these babies eating gourmet meals!

I swear by rice or egg fried rice Took my little one a while to grasp it but it’s not anxiety ridden and not hard to clean so quite fun to watch Also eat at all meal times together so they can learn from you
