My 8 month old does this too, I just put half the food that I’ve made for her on the plate and the rest next to me so if she does throw it all I know she’s eaten at least the half I’ve given her. She most of the time eats hers with one hand and throws with the other so I think she eats more than we realise! I just let her play and explore the textures 🥰
Don't give her the whole meal at once, offer small pieces. Don't pick up what they dropped but offer a new one (I know it's frustrating). If they keep going, cut the meal short. It's a phase should pass. Do not for any reason have a reaction to it, simply ignore when they do that or they would be pleased by your reaction and they will do that to play you 🤣
Thank you all
It's down to LO learning about cause and effect, and understanding the world around them :) they like to find out what happens when they drop things at this age, I know my LO will throw just about everything if I leave her to it! I hand bits of food to her after she's thrown a few bits, and make sure to model by exaggerating my own eating 😅😅
