You can use them within 24 hours the pouches xx as long as in fridge x
Toast the bread to make it less sticky and then you can spread something on it. Then cut into strips and offer one at a time. Your prune puree would work. Or peanut butter. Or avocado, etc. I think it's ok to use the next day at this age, especially if the baby didn't touch the end with their mouth.
My daughter hated pouches etc as she just wanted to feed herself! The pouches can be used within 24 hours so when we were using them she’d have half one morning and the other half the next morning. We have just used normal white or brown bread that we are eating in the house and either serve it as bread or toast in fingers with no crust and a wee bit of butter or soft cheese! She loves it. Pancakes are good too x
Thank you for all these replies ♥️♥️
@Rebecca how did your baby deal with pancakes ? she now has 4 teeth and terrified that she willl take a big bite and then choke on it 🫠
I also have another question, since she is 9 months old with 4 teeth - but have only been having mashed foods , should I start giving her 6+ months like finger foods or 9+ months ?
We use sourdough as the gluten is more broken down for them to digest and also it’s not ultra processed like most supermarket bread xx
My baby has 4 teeth too and can handle them well but every baby is different! Just make sure you’re watching her well! My daughter sometimes thinks she can handle more than she can but she gags and then spits it out xx
My baby has no teeth and manages normal 9+ sized foods xx
He is 9 months old xx
I use wholemeal bread and toast it! You can spread the fruit pouches over the toast like jam, smash raspberries/avocado/strawberries over the toast too! I cut crusts off it and then cut it in strips You can keep them in fridge for 48 hours I believe but it should tell you on the back of the packet! I would cutt for 6 month old blw to start as baby just doing finger foods and then you can see how they do just so they can get used to it!
I'd maybe start by preparing the food as shown for 6m+, but expect you'll be able to quickly progress to 9m+.
I think they'll surprise you how well they take to bread or similar foods. Have you tried melty puffs too? That might help you feel more confident.
I would advise to start with something softer for first finger foods like go with scrambled eggs, or avocados , then boiled broccoli , just to have concept of biting for the first week..
