When to start…

Less than 10 weeks to go for me now and I’m just wondering when is a good time to start really preparing everything (washing all the clothes, packing bags etc.)? I don’t want to be too eager! Also is anyone planning on batch cooking for when baby arrives? We are all nearly there now girls! 👶🏻

Great question! I’d like to know too 😅. So far all I’ve got is a few baby grows. Waiting for the Christmas sales to get all the bigger stuff. Definitely planning on batch cooking. We’ll thank ourselves for this 😊❤️.

I packed at 10 weeks mark, I also had all clothes pre washed put away very early haha I was so excited and eager. I didn’t batch cook - but definitely make a start with other stuff there no such thing as “ too early “ ( hope not ) but you could go into labour anyday, weather you have 10 weeks left or 15. wishing you all the best xxx

Start packing the bag now, you never know and at least it's ready, especially if you need to buy bits. For washing you still have time, I did it the month before, but as long as you put them away after, you can do it now.

For my other two I had my bags packed at like 30wks and kept in the car, I’d prewashed all clothes around like 28wks. I definitely recommend batch cooking - made life so much easier/takes stress out of deciding/shopping/cooking with a NB. I’m only 27wks currently and don’t have anything for baby except pram components and that’s only because I have them from my previous two 😭

I don’t think you can ever be too eager!😂 Babies have a mind of their own and come whenever they feel like it, much better to be prepped and ready so you can spend time resting waiting for baby to come ❤️xx

Thanks everyone! I’ve spent the morning getting a little bit more prepared just incase baby decides to make a surprise visit!!

Wash it now, pack it now. My daughter came early and I was very glad I was sorted and ready to jump in the car. I would love to batch cook, but the reality is I have a toddler and I'm knackered so just going to survive on slow cooker dinners and toast for a bit if needs be.

My first baby came at 30 weeks so can never be too prepared 🙈 this time around Ive been all ready to go since 28 weeks haha xx

If you have somewhere to put the clothes you can definitely wash them now. I've been adding bits of clothes to my wash loads so I don't get too behind on washing for a few weeks and nearly put all the clothes away ready now. Prepare the things you need and pack your bag when you feel is best really. I packed my bag around 33 weeks last time. But the earlier you do it you might just end up repacking it or needing things from the bag. I've started buying things for my hospital bag but won't be packing until closer to as don't want the bag hanging around. but I'm going to write a list soon so that if bag isn't packed in time me or my partner can easily grab all the things without having to think. I didn't batch cook with my first, I would like to this time as I'm having a C-section so no way am I going to be cooking anything for a few weeks. However I still have really bad food aversions so if they don't go away in time I guess we will just be living off more processed food for a few weeks.
