FYI if I ate half a frozen pizza, my reading would go over 9/10. So maybe test yourself with a takeaway pizza and see what happens lol high carb meals (white bread in particular) are usually a killer for GD
Thank you! I was told some trusts class anything below 4 as low/GD so that puts my mind at ease. We’re having mac and cheese for tea tonight so I’ll test after that!
My fasting reading (before breakfast) has been between 3.2 and 4.5 usually and when I've chatted to the diabetes midwives they never mentioned it being a low reading or anything to be concerned about. 5.7 after eating is good, that's usually what mine is now that I'm controlling with diet (before controlling with diet it was around 8 for me).
No, low results are normal in people without diabetes. It's the inability to react to insulin appropriately, which results in a GD diagnosis, so the opposite of low blood results
3.5 is fine for fasting - I often had fasting between 3.5-4.2 and I had GD but it was my after food readings that were the problem. 5.3 is perfect for after a meal - I’d say nothing you have said suggests GD. I was told they only worry about low readings when you are on insulin as it can become dangerous
