Weaning

Has anyone started introducing solids yet? My LB is 6 months tomorrow and we started him with broccoli over the weekend and tried carrot today. It didn't go down very well. I don't have high expectations and I don't expect him to eat everything I give him, it must be quite the shock to have such different textures and tastes all of a sudden, but he seems to absolutely hate it. I tried mashing it, mixing it with his milk, giving finger food, he starts to cry as soon as he sees it. Is it normal? Do I just keep trying or wait? He's showing all signs of being ready and he's obsessed with the food we're eating, it just seems when it comes to actually trying it, he's not having any of it.

Takes babies 10 spoonfuls to get used to the taste. I would keep trying x

The key is to keep at it, but what I'd suggest is give him stuff at the same time you're eating if you can and just let him explore the textures, he'll put it in his mouth etc. That's all you can expect at this age tbh

Keep trying but also demonstrate what to do by eating at the same time. It does take them a little while to get used to it.
