Weaning

Feel like I’m not doing my son justice with weaning. I’m always running between both kids and I just about manage to feed him meals. Still on pouches/ purees but here and there I will give him what we’re eating. He is also exclusively breastfed. And I’ve found that he stops eating after a few mouthfuls. I’ve tried feeding him food as soon as he wakes instead of milk. And then milk before sleep, but still hasn’t changed how much he’s eating. Does anyone have any quick meal ideas that are baby friendly. He doesn’t like textured pouches, but is good with texture in general. Rice, pasta, toast, weetabix. Porridge he isn’t a fan of. But might just be the way I’m making it. Not sure. He is now 8m. Conscious I go back to work in 4m and he’s not in a set routine, nor progression through the weaning process.

Any kind of pancake is so good, I make a batch of about 10 and freeze them it’s a life saver because they’re easy to hold and taste really good

My little girl’s favourite ones are red lentil pancakes : boil red lentils with carrots, onion and garlic, then puree it and add some flour and cook in a buttered pan. Banana oat pancakes: blend banana, oats, milk and then add some flour and baking powder and if you want cinnamon for sweetness 😊 both take about 5-10mins and are super nutritious and easy to make

I made 6 eggs, half a courgette, two tablespoons oats. Pop in the oven 190 for around 20 minutes and then cut into fingers last for two days in the fridge. Omelettes?

Also I'm sure you're doing a great job. It's hard running between two of them and you've got yourself to look after too. A few mouthfuls might be all he's wanting at the moment xx

@Melek this is super helpful. Thank you ☺️

@Beard ah thank you… do you squeeze the water out the courgettes?

@Beard thank you… that’s what my sister keeps telling me. I just thought he might have wanted to eat more by now

No I that's it though. Next time I'm going to try making with peas instead as I suppose you could put in any veg

Always remember that food before 1 is for fun and exploring new foods and textures. The fact that you’re concerned shows you’re doing an amazing job!!
