Mealtime

Is anyone else struggling with mealtime? My daughter is 10 months old. She was doing great with mealtime until recently and she will shake her head, stick out her tongue or spit the food out when we feed her. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to get her to eat? Thanks!

my son was doing this too and i started giving him like food he can grab and put in his mouth like teethets, pick me sticks, and puffs,, i also have like a cup of yogurt or applesauce with whatever puree i made that’s kinda new or high in veggies or protien

That’s how my daughter was, but I’ve found that whenever she got like that she wanted to be more independent and eat more of things she can grab and put on her mouth herself

Yes! She just turned 10 months and was previously such a good eater. Not sure if it’s teething or the brain leap, but she spits out, throws and refuses food. Unless it’s blueberries, it’s hit or miss if she’s going to eat. I always offer blueberries so I know she’ll eat something, but even some of her “favorites” she refuses now. I don’t have advice, just solidarity & hoping this phase passes quickly because the mess & food waste are driving me crazy.

also it’s good to remember that food before one is just for fun because they get all the nutrients they need from their primary source-milk s

I found that my baby likes the food pouches. She's able to feed herself. I step in to help to prevent a complete mess. I like the Happy Babies Organics food while looking out for iron and low sugar.

Thanks for all of the comments! I think it is partially that she wants to feed herself and I am also trying to teach her how to feed herself the food pouches. She hasn't quite figured out how to suck on them but she has done it a couple times. She also loves Cheerios and the puffy snacks.
