I don't drink anyway and I won't be showing so its fine for me.
@Hayley my family are drinking and we do cheese boards so. 😅
Thinking about getting my partner to be drinking so I ‘have’ to stay sober to watch our toddler but don’t know if that would trick my family 😅
Not drinking will instantly give it away for me 😂 we're doing a private scan on 15th as 12 week scan isn't until 30th. And then tell family but tell them it's still early so please be mindful
Also I don’t drink so there’s no problem there 😂
@Cara same here 😅
I told them me & my husband quit drinking weeks ago so it should be easy on the drink side. However we're all big cheese board eaters at Christmas so me avoiding some cheese might bring suspicion 😂
@Rhiannon just make sure there are some hard cheeses you like on the cheese board. I don't think people will be looking out for you not touching the Brie.
Ideally we would love to tell our family over Christmas but its a hard one, I'm so nervous due to our history and we're be 2 weeks away from "the safe zone"... 😓 xx
So I’m undecided. I mc at 8wks in Oct after i told all my family and we were so ready. But obvs telling everyone I mc was a bit upsetting but I’m pregnant again a month later so got preg Nov and we’re in Dec. I’m just hoping this pregnancy stays but I don’t want to tell anybody until we’re a good bit in. My mum knows, my partner, my fiancee mum and my manager at work. As I felt they we’re important to know this time round. I usually have Xmas dinner with my grandparents and fiancee ect and we’ve two dogs but my grandparents aren’t wanting me to go as it’ll be a full house but I also really want to spend Xmas with my family as it might be the last time of a normal Xmas before I’m a mum. Just gonna wear baggy jumpers. But also my fiancee wants to spend time with his mum at Xmas dinner but my grandparents don’t wanna cater for an extra person and obvs will be hetic with our dogs. So it’s a sticky one x
This is my second baby and I’m sooooo bloated it’s hard to not notice already and I’m only 7weeks! I’m due right at the end of July so my 12 week isn’t until January! X
I’ve had an early scan at 8 weeks and my 12 week scan is on the 23rd so we’re telling immediate family on Christmas Day. Got cute little personalised scratch cards for both sets of parents
I’ve already told everyone so I’m not hiding it. But I think this question also depends on how far along you are. Wearing loose clothes helps hide it especially if you’re in your 1st trimester.
We’ve booked a private early scan next week when I’ll be 7wks - I’m super nervous and anxious so want the reassurance. Once we get an image and thumbs up we’re going to tell parents only. That way they can support us and fend off any relatives with suspicions

I plan to wear a baggy jumper as I’m showing a bit as I have a small build and praying morning sickness gives me a break for the day 😂 luckily I’m not too keen on alcohol so nobody will find it weird and my 12 week scan isn’t until end of December
Unfortunately I’m a Prosecco queen and will instantly know because I’m not drinking so we’re booked a scan two days before Christmas. It will be nine weeks then which I would’ve preferred to tell them later but Christmas is just so difficult. 🤞🏻 my belly isn’t too bad till I eat then it definitely bloats up more witch Christmas Day is all about xxx
We’re having a reassurance scan the weekend before so we can tell parents and siblings over Christmas break… I’m terrible at hiding things and this has been insanely difficult already, so I’ll be pleased not to have to hide away for much longer!
My in laws are coming over for Christmas day. They know I love to cook and slowly drink from mid-morning on Christmas day, I even instructed them which wine to bring so we’re having an 8 week scan a week before Christmas to tell them if all looks ok, otherwise it’ll be obvious. They also know we’ve been trying. My family are in Wales so I’ll tell them just before Christmas when I visit. Managed to avoid christmas do’s so we won’t be telling others till much later.
@Alisia hello, just noticed your comment about morning sickness giving you a break for the day. Is this a thing? I’m in my first pregnancy (7+1) and have felt nausea from morning until night from 6 weeks. Today I’ve woken up and not felt sick for the first time. I’m happy I don’t feel sick but also feeling really worried 😢. Thanks xx
@Rhi sorry I should of worded it a bit better I meant I’m hoping it gives me a break for Christmas Day I’m still suffering from morning sickness but now being 9 weeks some days are worse than others trying to eat certain foods can make it worse but everyday just seems to be a bit different do you still have other signs happening x
@Manon well now you know what he’s expecting you to drink you can buy a second bottle and fill that up with some coloured no alcoholic fizz 😅
@Poppie ohh that’s such a good idea!
@Manon I always thought smoked salmon was a no no too. Sounds like a tough situation!
@Louise it’s deffo on the no go list, just like so many of my other Christmas favourites 😭 Worth the short term pain though!
I told people I couldn’t keep it secret. I had mixed my dates up and thought I was further along than what I am. I went for what I thought was my 12 week scan turns out I’m 8 weeks and 3 days
@Manon that's sad maybe you will find some different things you like, hopefully you are able to enjoy Christmas and not worry too much about others.
@Bonnie what a lovely idea ❤️ where did you get the scratch cards from?
I am announcing at Christmas to family, we will be 1/2 weeks till we are past 12 weeks but I am genuinely finding it so hard to keep a secret now and I think it will help them all knowing on Christmas Day etc
@Tarryn Etsy (I love Etsy for cute personalised stuff)

I’ve got our office Christmas party tomorrow and way too early to tell work yet 🥲 going to be lots of holding onto the same glass of wine for hours posing haha
Or see if you can go to the bar and get a non alcoholic variety without anyone hearing that you are having a non alcoholic. That's what I did when I was just not drinking when we were TTC.
Good idea, I think mocktails and soft drinks just won’t cut it when I’ve always been a big drinker at events!
I used to live off non alcoholic Gin so no one ever knew it wasn't just a regular G&T.
I’m waiting to see how my 12 week scan goes first. I’ve had a worrying few weeks so want to check everything ok before I tell anyone. My scans on 20th. If all okay I’ll tell them at Christmas, if we have to wait for further tests then I’ll wait until we have the results x
