Alongside the sugar, they’re also considered to be an “ultra processed food”.
There’s very little salt & sugar in weetabix. 0.05g of salt that’s 1/20th of the daily limit for under 1s. We get knock off versions, Smart Price from Asda or Home Bargains which has even less
They’re high in calcium, iron and fibre which is great. We either do weetabix or overnight oats with full fat yogurt and some fruits mixed through it
It’s ultra processed food so definitely not healthy .
@Natalie @MrsP#4 sorry do you think the organic ones are just as bad? Not for my little one but I haven’t had weetabix in so long myself and was wondering if the organic option would be better as I miss the quick breakfast 😭

Basically I'm gonna persue porridge again for brekkie
@Ell I believe it still has the malt barley extract, so from an processed perspective it’s is not any better. From a pesticide and generic modification perspective yes it’s better. I would go with organic porridge oats if you can, make overnight oats and that way it’s quicker
Try Nutri Brex instead
Ultra processed food is definitely not healthy for your little babe so don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, it has absolutely no nutritional value but no worries mama, maybe try eggs - scrambled , poached etc with abit of leftover veg warmed through from the nigtt by before, or mashed avocado and mashed banana! Maybe even tiny flourless pancakes (eggs and mashed banana) which takes two mins 💕💕 i would say if you were worried about it not being healthy it’s because your intuition is telling you so ✨
I keep trying with porridge and now she has it try mixing it with a fave fruit and cinnamon
I didn't know it had sugar and salt in it! My LO doesn't like porridge but does like these - easy to make and pop in the freezer, plus WAY less messy than porridge or wheetabix! https://rebeccawilson.com/recipe/quick-baby-flapjack/
