3 year old having horrible tantrums

I use to think the terrible 2s were bad. I feel my son got worse after turning 3. He gets frustrated with toys and starts getting angry and throwing stuff. I've been stressed out lately. Has anyone been experiencing the same thing šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Øhoping he will slow down on his anger soon.

Hi Janet I would talk to your pediatrician sometimes itā€™s just a phase for kids but other times not and needs to be evaluated . Our oldest is special needs and if I didnā€™t go with my gut he never would have gotten diagnosed . Not saying this is your situation but itā€™s always good to really evaluate it with your doctor and trust your gut momma you got this .

@Christina thanks. Well he was born 31 weeks, and just had a tongue tied surgery this summer. He just started school this November for talk and learn since he's behind in talking. Hopefully it's a phase, if not I'll look into it and ask his doctor. Thank you.

@Janett honestly my son speaks really well and still has terrible tantrums now. It absolutely could be frustration from not being able to communicate well but itā€™s also developmental. They are in a stage where they want independence and power so I see myself in this power struggle with him. I have found that if Iā€™m firm in what I say, even if it causes a tantrum, I tend to get a better outcome in the long run. Tantrums are shorter. Everyone says 3s are worse than 2s. šŸ˜…

My parents waited until my son turned 3 to say "oh by the way the terrible 2s are nothing, 3s are worse haha good luck!" It's likely normal and they have to learn and work through it but If you're unsure definitely ask your pediatrician

My daughter is doing the same idk what to do.
