Car seat

I wouldn’t put the car seat in until you are going to hospital to have baby if that’s where you are, if for any reason your in an accident it would need replaced xx I’d probably start setting up the other stuff now tho 🥰 x

I'm not really using my car much now so the base has gone in..we won't put the car seat or bags in until I go into labour (but we have tested it). The next to me has been built since we got it, it just lives in the spare room. I'm 36+4.

Im thinking of putting the car seat in soon due to lack of storage space in my house 🙈 we have two, one for each car. I’m due at the end of Jan.

I was having the same discussion with my partner today we also due on 13 Jan. We decided to wait till end of Christmas.

I’m 34+2 and I have my moses basket up in the living room simply so my dogs get used to it being there. The isofix is fitted in the car but the car seat is still in its box! I’ll be putting my next to me up at 36 weeks I think, again, to get used to having it by the bed x

I found it reassuring knowing it was correctly installed before I went into labour as you just don’t know when you’ll go into labour or where you’ll be or how long it’ll take to set up/issues you might have installing it. If you do have an accident and you’re insured, insurance companies usually have a car seat replacement policy. I had my seats installed and bags ready to go from 36wks 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ve got everything ready because my house was full to the brim with boxes and couldn’t cope with it so decided to build everything. Also have two dogs and want them to get used to it. It’s been a bit sad looking at the empty crib next to my bed but also pleased it’s done as you never know when you could go into labour. I’m so unwell now, bed bound, so I’m pleased it’s done. I’m getting induced in ten days, maybe if I was due later then I’d do it after Christmas but it plays on my mind not feeling “organised” xx

@Laura absolutely the same! 36 weeks and everything has taken me far longer to set up than expected!

I would say you definitely need a practice run at putting the car seat in, glad we did it first time round as we were all over the place with it initially 🙈 then it's up to you if that's where you leave them or not! Only thing is if there was to be any kind of accident they'd need replacing!

We put our car seat base in at 36W, but we’ll leave the car seat until the last minute as if we have any kind of accident it’ll be unusable! However our Moses basket, next to me etc. have been set up since like … 28W or something lol.
