i’m 27 weeks today and i haven’t yet either. i have my next midwife appointment on the 27th dec so they may offer it to me then im not sure. i know im having my next lot of blood tests then x

Not everyone gets it, it depends on if you match up with certain things, like a higher bmi, if your baby is measuring big or if diabetes runs in the family x

It’s only if you have a high bmi or you are older x

Im 28 weeks and had my test about 3 weeks ago x

@Summer not always I’m neither of those x

I've not had it but told i will, I have to have it as have a high BMI xx

I'm 28 weeks on Friday btw xx

I'm only having it due to family history of diabetes that's how my health board works

You don’t get it as standard unless there are factors which suggest you need it!

I was told at my 24 week appointment that I wouldn’t need it. There was no glucose in my urine, my bmi isn’t high and neither of my parents are diabetic so they said I don’t need to have it!

You don’t get it as standard. Didn’t have it with my first pregnancy but my dad has been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes so I have to be screened with this pregnancy. My letter came through at 16 weeks pregnant to be done at 28 weeks (next week).

@Summer and also depending on your ethnicity I'm being tested as I'm half south east Asian x

I’ve done the test twice and I’m 27 weeks. Failed the first one and they thought I had gestational diabetes so they scheduled me again for the 3 hour test and I passed that one.

Not everyone gets it…. I do for example because I am 41 years old. You’d need to meet certain requirement otherwise it isn’t offered

It is only if you have one or more of the risk factors, or are showing symptoms of GD❤️ not everyone gets tested but if you think you may have it you can ask to be tested xx

My dad has type 2 diabetes but only got it when I was about 15yrs old (due to poor diet..etc). Anyone know if it’s necessary for me to be tested? I eat well and exercise regularly 🤷🏼‍♀️ My sister who has two young children was never tested also.. xx

@Katie similar story with my dad think he was diagnosed in my late teens and was definitely diet related and my health board said because of his diabetes I needed testing for GD

@Katie I think that you should be tested from what I know, if they haven’t offered it you can request it xx
