Filling during pregnancy

Is it safe to get a tooth filling? I am scared anyway of the dentist and an overthinker. Do you know if you have to get an injection or anything? Never had a filling before. Advice pleaseeee!

Just let them know you're pregnant, but it's totally fine! I had one done when I was 17 weeks!!

i had a temporary filling at about 34 weeks pregnant and ended up having the same tooth taken out at 36 weeks xx

@keisha🍉 thanks! X

@Grace thanks! X

I had one a few months ago and I just let them know i’m pregnant and they gave me an injection without adrenaline in

My sis had a root canal. They did make her ON sign off on it though

I’m having one on Thursday x

I think its fine - I had to have an extraction when I was around 20 weeks. I did have a panic attack during it but I have a major fear of dental work anyway 🤣

@Beth off topic of the post, but what do you do to deal with your dental anxiety? Mine is extreme, and I need to go in, but it’s so hard to get myself to 😭

@Emily I dont really deal with it as such - but I had the choice between root canal and extraction+bridge and picked the latter as its the quickest of the two! The one thing I do though is honestly explain to the dentist about my fear so they are aware and they can pause/look out for signs Im not ok. I felt so stupid but I just cant control it. I think if I wasnt pregnant there may be some other remedies I could take to calm down beforehand but nothing allowed in pregnancy 😖 xx

Yes, just make sure the dentist knows. Better than risking an infection!

I did mine 2 weeks ago. It was fine
