New moms!!

hey! does anyone have any tips for labor and delivery? I’m a first time young mom and I’m very very nervous for the epidural, and pushing. although I’m very excited to meet my baby girl I’m very nervous for labor and delivery as I’ve seen a bunch of stuff about postpartum and right after birth. I’m almost due so the nerves are hitting very hard right now lol

I had an epidural and it was fantastic! I didn’t feel any pain. Pushing comes very naturally whenever you are going through that. The nurses will teach you how to breathe while pushing. Just imagine you are taking a big poop 😂

@Ana Moore thank you so much this definitely calmed some of my nerves!! I’m so use to shots and getting my blood drawn but I’m just scared for the pain of the numbing shot and I see a lot of women move due to them having a contraction at the same time and it’s terrifying!!

@maile i was having reaaally bad contractions but the anesthesiologist can tell when you are between contractions and do it in the right time. Honestly it doesn’t hurt near as much as I was thinking

my biggest tip is having a calm and comfortable environment. if you feel safe and comfortable that makes everything easier. have someone there who knows your wants and needs and can advocate for you. i didn’t have an epidural and pushing was honestly the most difficult part for me, but if you stay calm, listen to your body and push with your contractions you’ll be okay :) look up the fetal ejection reflex. i love talking about birth if you have questions feel free to message me!

That epidural is the best thing ever invented 😂 I promise you won’t even care about the needle

I waited a while before getting the epidural because I was terrified of it. The contractions got so bad and were so close together I could barely breathe. As soon as I got the epidural (which I didn’t feel at all amongst the pain of contractions) it was smooth sailing from there. The midwives were super nice and talked me through the entire thing. Honestly it was nothing like I expected, it was way easier and quicker than I thought it would be. Next time I am for sure getting the epidural way earlier, once I got it I was 1000x better and happier. You got this, it’ll be over before you know it 🫶🏻

I was trying to go unmedicated and was in so much pain we first tried iv pain meds (Nubain) and it was great at making me relax. I was still in so much pain so opted for epidural but then I didn’t care about the epidural needle at all.

I went unmedicated and it was beautiful. Was too much of a chicken to get such a huge needle, I opted for the labor pains 😂😂😂

@Ana Moore I didn’t know that!! that’s awesome!!

@Izzie i definitely have a birth plan that helps me feel more comfortable and I’ve talked about it with my doctors and all seems to be in order:) but your so brave!! I had intensions to go in without an epidural but the more I look into it I would just rather sleep then feel it but full support on going without an epidural!!🥰

@Tierra 😂good!!

@Ashlyn Thank you so much!!! I definitely plan on getting the epidural as soon as I get in there then taking a big massive nap😂 I’m so proud of you though!!

@Emily was the needle very painful? I see some girls move cause it is so painful and I know that can cause bigger issues!!

@Susie good for you!! I’m so proud of you🥰 was it as bad as everyone makes it seem? I see girls screaming at the top of their lungs and I couldn’t imagine!!

@Annie THIS!!! this definitely made me feel better about going in!! I just want to be able to sleep and laugh and talk while dilating!! I’m not scared to push I’m just more nervous for the experience! thank you bunches💕

@maile no not at all, I was definitely crying a bit through the contractions at the end lol. But when it came pushing I was very calm and focused, didn't make much noise other than grunting 😂 it wasn't bad at all 😊
