Another Whole Foods Spotlight: Burro Bananas

Burro bananas gained popularity when Dr. Sebi a renowned herbal healer brought to light the amazing nutritional benefits of this banana compared to the everyday cavendish bananas which are highly hybridized and gmo… Burro banana is higher in minerals and lower in sugar and very versatile and can be cooked green like plantain’s or eaten when ripe when it’s sweet …it has a similar taste to conventional bananas and I have eaten them in smoothies and puréed burros for my daughter when she was small You can find these bananas at your closest international farmers market, Latin stores or online…look for more information below 👇🏾

Def use these also as fried potato substitutes like loaded fries or tostones. They won't turn stale after frying either. Baby bananas work as well. And much respect to dr sebi

@Yasmina have you used this company? I think dr Bobby price also has a similar company that ships "exotic" fruit and chakabars might be coming back out with his fruit company also

@Krystle Respect 🫡 I didn’t like the baby bananas…the seeds were too big…I love burros just can’t get them that often…where you get yours from?

@Krystle yes it’s called iheartfruitbox…and I didn’t know Chaka was coming out with one too

@Yasmina we have several options where I am currently in Atlanta. LA has options to get them also from the Mexican markets and Miami I was able to get them from a local market straight off the tree plus the banana flower

@Yasmina in GA DeKalb farmers market has them sometimes. Buford highway farmers market has them, sometimes hmart or nam dae mun have them, or of course the Mexican markets

@Krystle ok nice and do you ever find fresh soursop? Idk why it’s so hard to find soursop now…and do you collect fresh spring water too?

@Yasmina soursop from DeKalb and Buford in GA also but not right now probably. I think they come back around Feb or so. At least in LA they do. And no I don't collect water bc I'm technically a nomad so I don't have the space and resources to do so
