I’m struggling and I think I just need to put it in words.

I’m almost 11 pregnant with my first baby. My first ultrasound is a couple days from now, but I don’t know how that’s going to go. I’ve been spotting (only old blood) off and on since 6 weeks and I’ve been to my clinic to get a swab and that came back fine. My OB says it could be any number of things and to try not to worry, but I’m worried. It took us three or so years to actually conceive and I’m 30 and I already feel like my body hate me. And it’s just hitting me really hard today. And it sucks. I just feel so awful lately and I really don’t want to.

For me with my first pregnancy I took test all the time probably up till I was showing like 1 or 2 a week till maybe 17 weeks it ok to feel on edge and nervous. Just take is slow one day at a time

I bled a lot of brown blood at the beginning of my pregnancy. In addition to bouts of bright red. I passed multiple blood clots. It’s actually kind of normal. I thought it was the end of the world. But I’m now almost 18 weeks with a healthy baby boy!

I had a lot of spotting and even passed small clots since I was about 10 weeks I’m now 31 weeks with my first baby and everything is still okay I get how you feel 100% as I was just as worried but I just tried to take it easy as I was under a lot of stress but any concerns would definitely be best to get it checked out as then you’ll have peace of mind x

It does make me feel better to know this is fairly common. It’s not great! But it does put my mind a little at ease to know it can happen and that others have perfectly healthy babies. Me and my husband were talking about how there isn’t a lot of knowledge about pregnancy in the general consciousness and how it feels like mothers are kind of left to figure it out.

@Kim We definitely are just left to fend for ourselves in a sense I still remember the times I’ve called my partner or my grandma crying from how much blood and even going through a phase of being scared to go toilet and wipe but a lot of people do say it’s really common with your body changing and getting ready to make more room for baby and to clear out all old blood

This is common. But with bleeding in the first trimester, it’s always reasonable to go to the ER for an ultrasound. If it gets worse or if you have pain, I’d go to the ER

I spotted all the way through until about 13 weeks. Turns out I have a bruise outside my cervix causing the spotting. I am 17 weeks now and still getting the odd spotting when I wipe. Went for a scan a few days ago and baby has a healthy heartbeat. My midwife is not concerned as spotting is common in all stages of pregnancy! She said to panic if it is as heavy (or heavier) than a period and if it has clots. I have stopped worrying now else I wouldn’t ever enjoy this pregnancy! Xx
