I’m similar as well as previous ED issues, so I’ve asked my midwife not to tell me my weight which she was more than happy to do - I stand backwards on the scale and she reads it. I trust she’ll tell me if I’m gaining more than I should. I’ve never been this weight before and it is scary x
I am 16 weeks tomorrow and have put on 20 pounds so far (which is about 9kg), I was taking steroids from 4-13 weeks and have also been taking progesterone and still taking this until 18 weeks as I have had 6 previous losses so they just wanted to be overly cautious. Both of these are meant to add weight/water retention, I am struggling with the weight gain but hoping it will level out once I come off the progesterone but I do understand how you are feeling, as grateful as I am to have a healthy pregnancy, I don’t recognise my body or my face but just have to tell myself it’s for a greater cause xx
i had gained almost a stone in the first 12 wks. everyone reacts so differently. water, blood volume, fat storing. your body is doing what it needs to to look after your little one. i am healthy and active too so i feel you. it was upsetting me a lot so ive hidden the scales - i am just focussing on nutrition, water and bio-oil to reduce stretch marks. completely understand and really empathise. this is the tricky part of pregnancy and its important. partially when you’ve always watched your figure. i have found it tricky letting go - but wearing clothes that are suitable for pregnancy + hiding the scales is helping me. also it’s expected to gain 1-5 pounds in first tri, and then 1-2 pounds a week from 13 wk anyway so sounds like you’re on track and within the normal scope for weight gain 🩷
