Haha, lucky you that it's only happening now. Sounds like the norm for my baby 🤣 the other night she slept for 3.5 hours and that's by far the longest stretch she's had. I guess the main thing is that babies are constantly changing. It might just be a bit of a phase, like if she's going through a leap (check out the Wonder Weeks app) or it could be her becoming more of a 'normal' baby as she moves out of that newborn stage and can experience more of the world. My baby definitely became more fussy as she started spending more time awake. They need to find their rhythms and have so much going on inside them. I hope for you that she settles a bit! Ps. Babies generally don't start sleeping through the night (ie. 6 hours) until at least 8 weeks, and that's only some babies. Their little stomachs just need the regular top ups. Mind you, that's more frequent for breastfed bubs.
Have you downloaded the Wonder Weeks app? I used it with my first 2 and found it to be very accurate. If you’ve not heard of it - it tracks your baby’s progress based on their due date and tells you when they’re going through development leaps/changes and to therefore experience some fussiness at X time (usually for a week or 2 at a time). The times they give for leaps I think generally are accurate +/- a week or so. It’s also helpful to be able to predict there is an end in sight ☺️ I have a dream baby as well - she sleeps 6-8 hours at night and is 7 weeks today. We’re due for Leap #2 fussiness now ish which is what you could be experiencing.
Yass definitely developmental, I feel you mama. My bubba hates anyone except mama holding her, and she wants to be held allllll the time.
