6 weeks

Hi everyone, Keeping anon as only 6 weeks. This is my 2nd pregnancy and the first I had quite mild HG when compared to a family member and didn’t take any medication for it. This time I feel worse already, might be because we have a toddler too but am I right in knowing that the more pregnancies you have the worse HG can be? I’m already struggling to brush my teeth 😭

Hi I had a HG pregnancy too the first time around. Where did you read that HG is worse in subsequent pregnancies? I understand that there is some evidence of certain supplements being helpful preemptively for HG (?vitamin B) not to say that it prevents HG though. I wouldn’t fear antiemetics, I was given several antisickness tablets and was admitted 3 times and visited a&e maybe 5 times for fluids. It was all just unfortunate and horrible at the time but my 2 year old is perfect and I had no issues during labour. At the time I weirdly seemed to be tolerating milk more than water. Everyone in the hospital had opinions on what I should and shouldn’t be eating. I would say please don’t feel guilty about anything you can tolerate. I was told if you can keep anything down down for 30 minutes then some of it will stay in your system (I hope that’s true because it mentally helped me) xx

@Lisa it happened with one family member but not the other! And we were told by midwife it’s usually the case that it’s worse. I am taking vit B already so hopefully that’s right. I think this time I’m going to have to if I’m worse than last time. I’ll have to discuss it with the doctor. I hope you’re right. My diet was terrible with my first 🙈 I won’t lie, since finding out I was pregnant I’ve overindulged with good & bad in hope to gain some weight before I lose it all again. I’m quite small to begin with and never gained it back from the first pregnancy
