Did they give you anti-blood clot injection to take home? Should be 10 doses after they discharge you. If you have serious concern about your condition, better call your hospital maternity assessment unit for help. Might as well see them in person, better be on the safe side.
I had my section on the 30th too and my cankles be cankling 😂😂 midwives said it's because our bodies were working for 2 blood circulations and now it's trying to readjust
I was the same, mines blew up beyond recognition! Midwife wasn’t worried as both were same size and I was taking injections. She said it’s down to surgery and because I had fluid through an IV during labour. As I became more mobile and began to go down around 10 days later. They then went back to pre-pregnancy size.
@Jade that's good to know! I went for my first walk outside today so maybe they'll start going down!
@Suki they have, I've almost finished it. I'm not worried about this, more I'd like to be able to fit my shoes on again and not have to constantly move my feet to no avail. Seems it may just take a little longer!
I've been walking around as much as I could since my section... Even went to a shopping center today 😅
@Dominique oh wow. Well done. I went for my first walk today 7 days post section. Everyone keeps telling me not to overdo it but don't think I am!
@Loren I don't think you are overdoing it!
@Loren to be honest I probably shouldnt have gone but I did get my steps in lol
I had excessive swelling in ankles lower legs knees etc and was worried so spoke to the midwife. I was also on blood thinners for ten days. Literally after a full week my ankles went straight back to normal so I wouldn’t worry too much it won’t last forever.
@Sarah I'm already a week post op and they're still bad!
Are you walking/moving around? The more you are mobile the quicker swelling disappears.
