@Evie thank you I might do that x
I did this, I was at the rvi due to living over that way, moved house so closer to Cramlington and my midwife sorted everything,
I had a really good experience, my partner stayed the whole time I was there which was something like 5 days including induction - you get your own room with an en-suite in both the birthing centre and the postpartum ward
I've just requested to transfer my care to them x
I’ve heard a lot of positive stories about cramlimgton. However, one point to consider is the neonatal unit at RVI if your baby needs any extra support when they’re born, they’d need to be transferred to another location. Less likely to happen for some but I was in another hospital to my baby when they were born and it was really difficult for me. Regardless of what you choose, both are good hospitals 😊❤️
@Cait I think Cramlington have SCBU - my cousin’s little boy was 6 weeks prem and didn’t need transferring to the RVI but not sure if that’s cos he was breathing on his own and just needed help feeding maybe?
I transferred to use nsech home birth team, they were great. I just told my midwife and she sorted the paperwork.
I did this! Had my baby at NSECH late September and couldn’t fault them. I just asked my midwife in one of the appts (can’t remember which) if I could transfer and she popped it through no questions asked
