You can use any nickname but I don’t think Claudia is a natural fit for Coco. I think it needs to be a Co name - Corrine, Collette, Connie. I think nn often just happen organically too. I call my daughter several that are totally unrelated to her name!
My name is Nikki-Lee and my parents called me Lu growing up. My sister is Laura and my dad called her Jo 🤷🏻♀️ I don’t think nicknames really have to fit a shortened version of their full names, call your child whatever you want 😁
Thank you everyone. We don’t mind that the link is a little bit tenuous. We just love both names so much 😂 Just not sure if we’re cool enough to pull of “coco” as stand alone
I agree with what others have shared 😊 Claudia might more naturally shorten down to “Claud” or “dia,” but if you call her Coco other people will get it and follow suit! If you love both names I say go for it
You can definitely name her Claudia and nickname her Coco! Nicknames don't always have to be related to the full name 😊 I call my son a made up nickname that has nothing to do with his name Isaac 😅 Just happens naturally sometimes!
I honestly don’t think it matters! If you want to use coco as a nickname for Claudia, go for it! My sisters name is Aspen and somehow her nickname is Roonie 😂😂😂 nicknames don’t have to derive from their first name like others have said🤍
You could definitely do it! I have a Sophie but we usually call her Dodo (long story)! Nicknames often come organically.
It’s a bit of a stretch but could work, maybe a middle name starting with O would make more sense like Claudia Opal her initials would be Co so she could be Coco. Other names Colette, Cosette, Constance, Corinne, Colleen, Cosima, Cordelia.
