Going home outfit - help!?

Hi I’m 36 weeks pregnant with baby girl and in the panic stage of preparing 😅. I’m trying to finish my hospital bag but I can not decide on baby’s going home outfit. It should be fairly cold and I’m unsure on how many layers and what’s appropriate. Sleep suit? Pram suit? Trousers and baby grow? New mum please help 🩷

If baby is going into car seat then straight to car, definitely not a pram suit as these aren’t safe to be worn in the car seat. We just picked a ‘nicer’ sleep suit for our daughter and put her in that to come home. Because they’re so wee and fiddly, plus they go through clothes quickly with sick, pee or poop, it’s not really with getting a specific outfit. I know a lot of people do it as they want to post pictures etc but that was honestly the last thing on our minds. This time we’ve just packed sleep suits and whatever he ends up wearing that day is what he’ll have going home 🤷🏼‍♀️ x

I’ve got a couple sleep suits for her to wear when she’s born and then right when we’re going home we have a nicer sleep suit for her “going home outfit”. In terms of being warm enough, I’m going to put a blanket over her to get her from the hospital doors to the car and then take it off once in the car as the car heating will keep her warm x

Honestly you’ll be so tired and ready to go home after giving birth you won’t be too fussed about it - so I’d go Sleepsuit for convenience. Put a blanket over the top for the journey from the hospital to the car then take off when in the car x

Ive got a couple of sleepsuit options and a wee knitted set but honestly whatever I feel in that moment will go on her if she needs changed at all. With my son they let us leave after midnight so it was just a case of getting us home 💕

We had a nice going home outfit for my first my mum had bought and I really didn't see the point in it. This time I'm only packing short sleeve vests and sleepsuits which are the easiest to get baby in and out of and whichever one he is in when we go home is what he is wearing. May be worth having a cardigan for over the top that's not too thick so is safe for car seat then a blanket and a hat to keep baby warm on the way to the car.

I’ve got a star blanket, you put the baby in it sort of like a starfish and it can be wrapped round them in the car seat. Then I’m just putting vest, top, leggings, cardigan and hat under it. I’ve put the link for the blanket, didn’t know about them with my 1st but seen a few friends with them recently. https://www.very.co.uk/clair-de-lune-star-fleece-wrap-blanketnbsp--cream/1600848232.prd?cm_mmc=google-_-PLA+-+Generic-_-Everything-_-PRODUCT_GROUP_p81218769505_&utm_campaign=Generic_Fashion+Clothing+%26+Footwear+-+All+Products+-+Fashion+Clothing+%26+Footwear&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_term=PRODUCT_GROUP&campaigntype=shopping&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD2k1i1eyqMt8ZWKuN2ACbEWrYl3-&gclid=Cj0KCQiAyoi8BhDvARIsAO_CDsAXAv_qhJOPLLNFvps9dm7iwy1uAKOghj3fFc2_7j8jySti0y4tpcIaAmzuEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds#sku=sku27999425
