Baby is never full - dairy free due to allergy

My daughter is 13 months old and I'm at my witts end, after every meal she cries and wants more, she has a dairy free yogurt after and snacksthrough out the day and has her oat milk (10 ozs in total a day). I don't know what to do, I'm struggling every day with her, and her outbursts are so big, I try and calm her she paddy's and pushes away from me, I feel like a failure as a mum and I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. Has anyone had this before? Any advice would be grateful.

Are you doing her big enough portions? Just out of interest why cant you give her more, shes growing, as long as its not shit shes eating theres no harm. If my son is still hungry I will give him more fruit, yogurt, crisps etc or more of the meal if left overs. Maybe try bigger portions

We have the total opposite (also dairy free plus a few other allergies) She's still on formula because she doesn't eat much proper food it's always snacks she wants and when I try to switch her milk gradually she refuses it Has it been since switching to the oat milk or on her formula to? Maybe try some filling foods like pasta

Do you offer her water at meals? It could be that maybe she’s wanting to eat more to try and satisfy thirst

@Rachel she has had big portions and will eat until she throws up

@Meg yes she has water too

Hmm, not sure what else to suggest. Does she have siblings? I’d say maybe book in with the doctor because if she’s continuously hungry and will eat to the point of being sick there could be something underlying. There are conditions where a person doesn’t get the cue for fullness etc

Appreciate the dairy free but do you give her what you eat? Would save you having to make a special meal for her and maybe you can add your dairy products after you've plated up eg cheese I had to be dairy free while breastfeeding until my LO started to pass the milk ladder at 9mo and we used to have to split mac and cheese in half and do two oven trays one with real cheese one with fake cheese but the sauce had oat milk even for him as we prefer it to cows milk. Vegan cheese and yoghurt isn't filling at all. I would try df bread, rice, sweetcorn (my LO could eat half a cob), banana

I agree with above about getting her checked at the doctors. I don’t think it’s anything to do with being dairy free - I have been for almost a year now (and egg free!) due to breastfeeding and there isn’t anything that is any less filling. Also are you giving her the correct oat milk? Fortified with iodine? Just in case it’s down to a nutrient deficiency? No clue if that would cause this but worth a check!

My daughter is dairy free and eats massive portions but I pretty much give her the same as what we eat just with the vegan /dairy free alternatives and if she’s still hungry then I give her some fruit. Breakfast is usually porridge or weatabix made with her oat/soya milk. Lunch a slice of toast with dairy free cheese spread or peanut butter, a piece of fruit usually a banana or orange. Then something else like cucumber sticks and tomatoes or some baby crisps. Teatime is whatever we are having last night she had roast chicken, roast potatoes, broccoli and carrots. The day before we had spag Bol, and I sprinkled her vegan cheese on top. She has some snacks during the day if she seems hungry or if she sees me pinching a biscuit. I either give her fruit, raisins or she really enjoys the kiddilicious wafers, fruit wiggles and crispy tiddlers they are all dairy free. Then she usually has 3 bottles 7oz of either the soya or oat milk. We get the alpro growing up with the vitamins in.
