Anything by VE Schwab. Specifically though the shades of magic series. It’s a complete series, but then she wrote another one that’s like an adjacent one. It has some romance but no spice. Lots of magic, badass female lead, and dope world building.
And yeah if you haven’t read TOG and Crescent city yet, definitely add those. TOG has a slow start but it is a fucking epic hero’s journey tale.
