I would stick to putting new foods on the same plate with something she's used to. Tbh, if I could eat potato chips for breakfast lunch and dinner I would too lol I firmly believe that a hungry enough baby will eat anything you give them 🤷♀️ so offer healthy food for meal time and if she pushes it away then don't overreact, just let her know it's ok to decide not to eat but that's all she's getting for that meal. Then make her wait at least an hour before she's offered another or the same healthy option. My in-laws think I'm cruel but "picky eating" doesn't last longer than a few days in my family.
I definitely will be using both advices!
Me and my son do new food we do a dance party "take a bite for baby shark dance" my son loves music and being active so it works quite often for me the more fun it is to do something new the more new things they will want to do is what I've found most helpful
Cut the chips out. Don’t even have them in the house. She will have tantrums and it will be overwhelming but eventually she will try other foods.
my son fortunately is not very picky…. but he can be particular about what and when he eats. two things have worked for us… for snacks, he gets two options (so he feels like he gets to choose what he wants), but i choose the options. so he can pick between like. blueberries or grapes. I would avoid offering their favorite snack as an option. I tell him that if he doesn’t want either one, then he doesn’t get a snack, and he normally will then pick which one he wants, or walk away and play with something. the other thing is eating foods with us. yesterday he ate about 5 bites of my salad because he wanted to try what mom was eating. this is how we got him to start taking daily vitamins, bc mom and dad take vitamins, so he wanted one too. hope this helps!
Oh man, we are going through this currently and made a small breakthrough today. I’ve started bargaining by playfully saying “if you eat 3 bites I’ll give you 3 goldfish”. It took a few days but he finally started taking those first bites to get goldfish lol Today, as soon as he took the first bite he just continued eating, forgetting the goldfish until he was done! I know this won’t always work but I’ll take him trying a few bites of new foods then the typical push the plate away and cry
