Solids

Anyone given there babies solids to try yet? I posted on another page and got heaps of backlash about it without them even knowing what size my baby is lol. I haven’t tried yet. I’m still gathering information. Baby is 4 months & over 17lbs. He’s a big boy. Just wondering if you have tried solids, what were the signs you noticed that made you certain baby was ready?

My baby is almost 19 pounds I was told by his doctor to kinda start introducing but nothing like meals till closer to 6 months. Personally he isn’t really showing signs ready to eat from what I read. He kinda just uses his tongue to push it back out. But he loves frozen fruit and things in the teether pops? I’m not sure what they are called but great to introduce flavors and for teething 😊

It also has really helped with his motor skills and putting things to his mouth and holding it way better than toys have been thus far

Our family doctor said it can help with our babies reflux so we introduced banana yesterday 💕she likes swinging the spoon around and putting it in her mouth but not with food 😂 we mush that in our hands and eat it that way while we chew on our fingers lol

I’ve let my baby taste certain things I eat. And I give him raw veggies to chew on for his gums.

My girl had puréed avocado yesterday she absolutely loved it. We have a baby bullet and it has a book of things to introduce and recipes for different age groups! She’s 4 months and already has a tooth through the skin (a canine tooth)

@Madii I just got one of these yesterday! And yes if I do try it definitely won’t be for meals. Just to try here and there to get him ready I suppose. However I’m still deciding!

So wild if I posted this in another group all the mums would’ve come for me!! I didn’t even say I had given my baby solids but damn they were nasty about even the suggestion of introducing different flavours at 4m lol

@Madii what fruits do you give him?

My girl just turned 4m and has been all over my food the last week or so! She managed to get egg yoke on her finger from trying to grab my breakfast a few days ago and went crazy chewing it off her hand! She loved it😂 I haven’t actually started her on anything yet but it made me feel a little better about trying stuff. I honestly believe whenever they start showing interest is the right time to try, every baby is different 🤷🏼‍♀️ Don’t nobody need to be bashing other moms when we’re all just trying to get through this shit together

Message me I’ll send you what good for a baby 4-6 months from the baby book!

@Devin Lowe could you please post it here? Thankyou 🙏🏽

@Natalie my baby will stop BF’ing to stare at me moving my food from plate to mouth haha

@Devin Lowe I would love to see also! My baby is 4.5m almost

My baby is 4 months in 5 days. A couple days ago, I was eating some cheese and she grabbed my hand and pulled it to her mouth. I gave her a SUPER tiny piece and she ate it. That's all she's had so far. She does keep trying to eat everything, but I'm trying to at least wait for her doctor to say she can start some solids.

Banana, Strawberry and Rasberry so far!

I would ask his pediatrician. My baby is 4 months and 1 week and in his appointment last week we asked about solids. His doctor told us we can start with some purée or baby cereal to start intro to textures but once he is able to sit in his high chair my his own. So, we are waiting maybe some weeks. I am excited since he has reflux
