Crocheting advice?

I've crocheted a few small baby blankets before but that's all I know how to do. I'd really like to learn more. Anyone have tips or tricks you wish you knew starting out? Easy projects I should try first? Favorite brands of yarn? Anything help.

Amigurumi! It’s pretty much done in single crochet and they end up so cute!

Some easy projects imo are hats/beanies, blankets, wash cloths, hot pads, coasters, etc. there’s tons of neat projects and patterns on red heart and yarnspirations websites that are free!

I love doing amigurumi and blankets I follow a few people on Instagram and TikTok that teach me new stitches so it’s not the same blanket every time my new favorite stitch is the waffle stitch! Also lots of free patterns for Amigurumi on Instagram a lot of people say to start out with worsted weight yarn but I found it easier to do with big twist plush, posh, and baby bear.
