Finding it hard to tell when baby’s hungry

I combi feed but when I hold my son he always shows hunger cues (because he can smell me) but if I give him to my partner right after without feeding him first he doesn’t show those hunger cues. My son has just turned 5 weeks. BF mums is this normal? I think he’s quite attached to the boob, which i’m very thankful for but I feel like all I do is feed but everyone else gets to enjoy my son’s wake windows and play with him

I was in the same boat. And they start exploring with their hands making it even confusing! You’re doing amazing momma. At that age their eating is all over the place. I rmeber my baby wanting to eat every 35 minutes and I barely caught a break. We did tons of skin to skin / contact naps. Don’t stress about tummy time. I was so caught in the newborn trenches we did like 5-10 mins /30 mins a day. Wake windows were so short between feeding and her falling asleep. You’ll learn your babies hunger cues with time I promise. It does get easier. I’m 5m pp and it just got easier a week ago. She eats every 3 hours now but is now teething.

Try to see if you can do some tummy time Or anything else for distraction and see what happens. A stroller walk usually helped too

In the same boat. My 7 week old wants to feed almost anytime he's with me. I know he's using me as a pacifier because I know he's not hungry sometimes. Just wants to comfort nurse. It's a bit overwhelming at time.
