Childcare costs

I’m returning to work 29th April. How much notice do I give to universal credit to apply for childcare costs? I have to pay a month in advance aswell does anyone know if they will help me with that first payment?

They can help you with the first payment but it’s not guaranteed. To get up to 85% back all you need to do is once you’ve paid it, declare costs to them, they’ll ask for the invoice from nursery, and proof of payment, when you first set it up it’ll ask for the registration code of the nursery or something along those lines, it’ll either be on your invoice or you just ask the nursery for it. With your proof of payment too, make sure it shows what day you made the payment, it’s very easy to declare it all, and then you’ll receive some of that money back the following month! Are you eligible for funded hours too?

Ok so once I have paid first months rent I just notify uc on my journal? Can I ask before I pay my first month if they can help towards it? It’s near enough £700 a month. No I don’t think I am eligible for funded hours my baby will be 10 months when he goes to a childminder

Ok thankyou for your help
