Childcare.

Can someone help me?. PLEASE READ ALL. It’s a little lengthy. So I moved to Guildford in September with my now 3 year old. I don’t have much family here but the family I do have, either work already or physically can not look after a child. Im on universal credit, and i also don’t drive. I have a job interview on Friday for a care assistant. I feel like I’m going to struggle a little with childcare.. (not fir the interview but for IF/WHEN I start. shift patterns at this new job (if I get it) are 7am-7pm (they were saying they want me to go to shalford for 3 months untill the new home opens in SEND which is absolutely fine. My sons nursery, his earliest drop of time is 7:30 and latest pick up is 6:30, again shift patterns for the job are 7am-7pm so I’m going to need to leave by at least 6ish (depending on trains/transport to get to the job and won’t be back till at least 8/8:30(depending on travel). 3/4 days a week. So I bscially need someone to take my son to nursery and pick him up and just sort of be on hand during those days. Universal credit said they’ll pay for 85% more of childcare. have any mums been in this sort of situation.. anyone have any advice? Or know what to do?. (Obviously I have looked for jobs closer to my area but none have gotten back to me). TIA

You can look into getting a nanny or a childminder for the drop offs. Childminder will be significantly cheaper

@Ashleigh do you know where I could start?.. I have no clue. Universal credit say they can pay 85% of the childcare but only if they’re government funded.

Have a look on childcare.co.uk u select what u need and u can message the childminders/nannies etc. Some do only do certain days and time and term time or not. Everyone I spoke to on there is really helpful and we have been with our childminder for almost two years xx

@Emma thank you I’ll have a look

@Emma I have had a look at this website. I’ve messged one Person and now I need a membership. Is there any good childminding apps/websites where I don’t need a membership?.

Unfortunately with most apps these days you have to pay. Join godalming Nannie’s and childminders Facebook page. They might know someone local to you

It's been a while since I've been on there. I think there are some out there who use the premium and won't let u email. But there are some which don't. Try another one and see. There was a FB group, u could put out ur requirements and see if anyone can help, but I'm no longer in it, so can't send a link x
