Housing association A2 dominion

I've been offered a flat by the council my question is will it have flooring already provided? I'm currently in a housing association property that came with flooring but it's temp accommodation so I'm guessing it has to be floored! But I'm not sure about this property I've been offered. I'm just hoping someone can shed a light! Thanks

I think they leave hard flooring in but carpets all get taken up before new tenants move in x

I work for a HA and properties don’t have flooring or white goods throughout. The only time you might have these is if it’s a new build flat as some are purchased by the HA after build. If you’re in TA, the officer should have informed you and supported you to try save for these items. You can always ask if they have a welfare fund that might support, even carpet in babies room or living room for warmth. Charities like Home Start and Citizens Advice can help too if you don’t have the funds to floor the whole property.

Thankyou both! I'll see if I can sort something out x

@Edel, how do you find out if its a new build? And do I ask my housing officer about the welfare fund? X

@Liz it should be on the details if there’s a picture etc. but speak to the housing officer or tenancy sustainment team or whoever contacts you to do an affordability assessment. They might not have one but they should have ‘household support fund’ which usually helps towards bills but some allow it to be used for other household items too.

@Edel thankyou I will talk to them when they email after viewing it!

@Liz good luck 😊x
