Did you bother to sleep train or just wing it

I’m not breastfeeding. I have a 3 month old and we are still waking up 2 times a night to eat. Have a good bedtime routine. But we aren’t doing well with staying in the bassinet for any length of time. And we only contact nap. She doesn’t sleep to have any self settling techniques that I can see that are helping her sleep. She loves eating her hands. Not rolling yet. And in a swaddle still.

I would say this is still completely normal at this age and wouldn't stress sleeping independently until they are 1 when you can start sleep training

Being able to self-soothe is a developmental milestone that doesn’t come until much later (I don’t remember the exact age but at least past one). We didn’t sleep train but we at some point started not to pick up baby from her bassinet if she’s just fussing, only once she’s started crying, because sometimes she’ll fuss for a few minutes but then go back to sleep. She also only contact naps and although sometimes it would be nice for her to nap in her bassinet, I also remind myself there’s only so much time she’ll be this little and want to nap on me.

They dont really have any self soothing techniques until after 4 months old and that's usually when they begin to gain some understanding of night and day and night being a time to sleep. My guy is 3 months and still wakes twice in the night to feed. We go into our room for bed at 9 and he's usually out after 10 minutes. We co sleep. He hasn't slept in the bassinet since we brought him home. I know that's horrible but he was also a nicu baby with breathing and eating problems, so he was in a co sleeper bed thing for a little bit but he didn't like that either. He just sleeps way better and has regulated breathing whenever he's on me or his dad. He's my third baby and in regards to sleep he's just like his brothers. A velcro baby 100% lol

@Meagan I will truly miss those naps. I love sitting at home on leave watching tv and just letting her nap on me. I don’t need to go many places. I just end up spending money I don’t need to. When she goes to daycare in august when I gotta go back to work or have a nanny I haven’t decided I’ll miss them a lot

Two times per night is so normal and healthy at 3 months old.

i suffered lol. tried sleep training but i hated it, stopped, breastfed a million times a night basically for 17 months, and now my son is sleeping through the night. idk, don’t do cry it out. it damages the kids.

@Ingrid I don’t have the ears or heart for the crying

@Leslie we cosleep now too

I feel that!!! Couldn’t do it either

I couldn't do cry it out either. Hearing my kids cry gave me such anxiety I couldn't handle it. Idk how some people do it

@Leslie if it happens too long I get really irritated. I feel awful but it gives me rage when it goes on for too long
