Advice please everyone.

My son turns 3 this March, I am feeling so conflicted on what’s best to do as I think 3 is tooooo young for school but my husband wants him to start school this year, I have a friend that works in nursery that advices this too . He currently goes to a private nursery that he loves. Any advice please moms xx Also what’s the process on getting the best school around my area - Thank you all in advance

My sons 3 in March too, he goes to the nursery that's attached to the local school, they mostly just play and sing and dance ect but they do some teaching like they have a themed week every week so this week is animal week and they're learning the names of animals and what noises they make ect. My son LOVES it there, he crys everyday when I pick him up cos he doesn't want to go home 🤣 but hopefully he'll work his way up through the school until high school. I sent him to that nursery cos I seen someone ask in the local Facebook group for my area, what people thought was the best primary school was for the area was, I went on the school websites and had a look at each one and organised a visit to look round and picked the one I thought was the best for my son.

I go By reviews tbh. My daughter used to Go to private nursery but she went to this school nursery last Jan but I pulled her out cos I wasn’t satisfied. She started again this year Jan and no issues. She cries when I pick her up🤣🤣I’d also love her to go to school next dwp

What area are you? Do you mean pre-school?? Children don’t start school until they are 4

Yes pre school x I’m in Droylsden

Ahh I see, I work in childcare and I would definitely recommend pre-school before school. My son has gone to a nursery since 9 months and I’m planning on doing half and half. Use his 30 hours for nursery as it’s more expansive which works out two days in the nursery pre-school when it’s spread over the year and get him into a pre-school attached to his school for either half a day or one whole. I’ve been looking and all of the PS associated with the schools are a 9 month waiting list 😬

You need to start contacting schools now if you want him to start in September. Mine started at 3 (similar area) and worked out well for starting school. You’ll get 15/ 30 hours depending on places

Can you recommend any good school please? I’ve just moved around the area

St Mary’s is quite popular but not sure which others have a nursery in Droylsden… Manchester Road might or greenside
