Just looking for some advice or if anyone has experienced similar with their little ones.

My daughter is 18 months and she’s always been a great eater, she loves her food! But just recently, maybe the past week or so, she will eat a couple of mouthfuls and then she’s started holding her food in her mouth, she won’t swallow it or spit it out and sometimes will hold it in there for 20/30 minutes which then I will have to end up digging it out myself. Is this normal? And is there anything I can do to stop her doing it? Or is this just a phase that will eventually pass? Any advice is appreciated 🫶🏼 Picture of the cheeky girl in question

It’s an unfortunate phase that also comes with pterodactyl screams, straight up refusal for most things and big tantrums 😅

@Sharnee thank you so much for replying!! But omg, she’s been having these tantrums recently that come with a throaty scream that makes her start coughing up, super clinginess and being extra emotional and I did wonder if they were all related. So the short answer is, plenty of caffeine and we gotta ride it out 😂

@Ceara 🤣 sounds like you got this mama ❤️ your daughter is absolutely adorable! I love her cheeky smile. My youngest is now 19m, getting better but he’s just so vocal and throws some big tantrums over some hilarious stuff. Sometimes you just gotta find the humour in it. Their sleep may also get thrown off a bit too at the moment but it should settle down again. But my two are still pretty clingy atm and I think it’s more due to the fact I’ll be giving birth to their sister next month 🤣
