Housing & struggling with mental health

Hi mummas, I really need some help. I currently live in a top floor flat, and I have a 19 month old who can’t go down the stairs yet only up. We’ve been told I can’t leave my pram downstairs anymore because it’s a “fire risk” even though it gets folded up and tucked under the stairs because there’s no storage cupboards. I’m also 30 weeks pregnant, have appointments coming out of my ears because I have gestational diabetes and suspected pre eclampsia so I’m out multiple days a week, and I’m really struggling to manage it. My partner works 8-5:30 5 days a week, so I’m left to do most of it alone. We’re on the council housing register, but only under “registered” because we’re “adequately housed” but our rent is increasing in April, and we can’t afford rent in advance & deposits for anywhere else (believe me I’ve tried). I had postnatal depression with my first because we couldn’t get out much and I’m petrified I’ll get it again & it’ll be worse with 2 alone once my husband returns to work. Does anyone have any advice on what I can do / try to get some help ?? Thanks x

Go to the gp???

I second what Danielle said - if you explain all this to the GP they can write a letter that you can attach to your housing account. Make them aware it's all around the stairs and it's not good for you living in a flat etc. Which council are you with for housing? Are you adequately housed for when little one arrives as well? We've just been offered a 2bedroom house flat due to overcrowding and lack of funds for private rent for myself, husband and LO

@Kayleigh yeah I did consider GP but then I’m worried that they’ll think I’m just trying to do it to move up the banding. We have a 2 bed, not tiny but on the smaller side, I wouldn’t say we’re overcrowded but a move definitely needs to be done sooner rather than later. Financially, our rent is due to increase April which is when I’m due & we’re a one income household so can’t afford the rent in advance & deposit etc on anywhere we’ve tried. We’re with south glos (homechoice). I’m worried if I end up having a c-section and climbing 3 flights of stairs or having to do the stairs alone with a toddler and newborn then I won’t get out at all x
