First flight with 2 year old (no screen time)

Hi loves, I have a 2 year old and a 2 month old and we are traveling at the end of March domestically. This is going to be the first flight where my toddler gets his own seat! Any screen free activity ideas or toys that seemed to keep them occupied? I already plan to get him a backpack and lunchbox as well as a plane mattress so thats done!

We got a boogie board for our son for flights. He loved it and it kept him occupied for a period of time. We always bring flash cards and water wow books as well! I find that snacks keep him the most entertained though so I always make sure to bring an abundance of those šŸ˜‚

Bring more snacks than you ever think youā€™d need and special snacks too! Stickers. Little tubs of playdough. Some novel toys would be helpful like the little magnet kits, reusable sticker kits, crayons/paper, stickerwow etc etc

I just want to say good for you keeping your child screen free. It is so much harder than I ever thought it would be.

@Cat aww thank you. I just know if I did screens, Iā€™m the type to always resort to it because I know it will work so Iā€™m doing my best to avoid it as long as I can :)

We donā€™t do screens but did use them on our 7 & 9 hour flights to and from Switzerland. My daughter still hardly watched them and much preferred doing things. We have a great busy book from Amazon that she loves, LED drawing pad, snack spinner (entertainment and food in one), Melissa & Doug color wow ā€œpaintā€ books. I also recommend trying to get the bulkhead or premium economy seats in the front row of the section. Having that extra space saved me on the 9 hour flight that she didnā€™t nap on
