Ireland as a name??!

Am i crazy or could this be a usable name? I love the imagery it evokes of the emerald isle but is it weird when we live in England? I can sort of get my head around someone in the states using it as its thousands of miles away and probably never comes up in conversation but its right on our doorstep.

I’m Irish and don’t see why it’s an issue. People call their kids things like India, Paris, Florence, Dakota, America, Orlando, Kent, Chester, Camden etc. I don’t see Ireland as any different to calling a kid any other place name, if you like it you like it.

Thought I think of Ireland Baldwin

@Sarah well this was my thinking behind it but as Ireland isnt so established as a place name as say, Paris, London, India etc people would see it as very weird

My first kiss was with a kid named Ireland!

I've never come across the name America.... Wow! If you like it I don't see why not but I prefer Emerald in homage Ireland since you mentioned it.

@Anita I always think of America Ferrera from Ugly Betty and Superstore ☺️

I knew a girl in high school named Ireland

I love that name !

I know a woman in her twenties called Ireland.
