Burns night

Good evening , me again so sorry…. I’ve just had some Haggis at the pub and then googled it afterwards and had no idea we weren’t allowed it, now I’m worried about baby. I am currently 20 weeks. 😒 Has anyone else has Haggis?

Woops, we had burns night a day earlier and I had quite abit of haggis… didn’t realise we couldn’t have??

Apparently it’s got Vitamin A in, and I’m hoping only the small amount would be okay x

@Jen 😳 I hope so too, I’m 20 weeks. I’m sure it will be fine! X

I've eaten Haggis and Black Pudding not realising I shouldn't be until this post. Not eaten massive amounts and not regularly, maybe like on 3 different occasions. I've had scans after and all has been OK. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I wouldn't worry. It's so confusing all the foods you should avoid!

I would not worry at all! vitamin A is vital in pregnancy and if anything we aren’t getting enough of it :) Here is an article that might put your mind at ease: https://thisisneeded.com/blogs/the-science-of-nutrition/a-comprehensive-guide-to-vitamin-a-in-pregnancy-and-breastfeeding#

@Rebecca it’s ok to eat black pudding according to nhs website x

@Kirsty they are different, haggis has liver with vitamin A which is the issue x

@Becca yes I know… the other lady said she had haggis and liver as she didn’t realise we can’t eat while pregnant but you can eat black pudding so that’s what I’m saying to her it’s fine to eat black pudding, but haggis is a big no no

I’ve had it now; so I guess there isn’t much I can do is there :/

@Jen I’ve been feeling my girl bumping around today 48 hours after haggis gate so I think we have lived to tell the tale😂😂 just good to know for the future I guess!

Oh I can’t wait to feel the kicks..: I’m only 20 weeks xx

@Jen they want be long huni,I’m 21 weeks and Im feeling proper kicks now, mainly in the morning and in the evening when I’m not as busy x
