If you have a hungry baby just give them milk more often. Unless advised by your Dr you shouldn't really begin weaning before 6 months as it can potentially lead to digestive issues

4 months we started purées, but we didn’t change his nursing. He still nurses on demand. He’s a big boy at 18lbs 😂
Hungry babies below 6 months generally just need more milk 🤷🏼♀️
My baby was ready for it showing all signs just after 5 months
Waited until seven months for solids. Just up their milk intake!
We started with baby led weaning at 6 months. Never bothered with purees. Definitely never bothered with baby rice or cereal cos it has no nutritional value and just fills up space that you want filling by breastmilk or formula.
Depends on their development, not whether they're hungry or not. My lil man's a greedy baby but he was nowhere near ready at 3-5m, he was barely ready at 6. My little girl wasn't a particularly hungry baby but showed all the signs of being ready at 3. Started her slowly at 4.5.

One year with my singleton and 6 months with my twins I nursed exclusively on demand up to those points
