It’s because it’s the most precious thing in the world to us, so you’re totally normal to feel a bit of anxiety whilst having to wait. My coping mechanism has been to just plan a few things I need to buy for baby, researching best options etc.. it helped me get excited and channel my energy into happy things!
I totally hear you on the anxiety. I had a scan at 6,8 and 10 weeks now waiting for my 12 week scan. I have got in touch with the perinatal mental health team and they will put in place some group CBT with other expecting mums. I think the will be helpful. I had a healthy pregnancy with my daughter but exactly the same anxiety. Think it’s just so precious but also fairly lonely place to be - pregnancy.
Some anxiety is normal but if you feel its constant let your midwife know. They can refer you to an antenatal mental health team.
