Nursery

Does anyone’s child go to nursery 1 day a week? I’m thinking of this as the one we really like and ticks all boxes only does full days and not half days..I’ll be on maternity leave soon so I don’t really want her to do more than 1 full day but want her to have the chance to interact with other kids. She does go to classes at weekends so not the only thing she will be doing. Come September she’ll be able to do half days at our school of choice nursery. Just want to know how your child got on.

Yes, my daughter goes in 1day a week and had been for almost a year now.

My little boy goes one day a week to a childminder, and he loves it. I also wanted him to have a day to interact with others without me around ready for pre school.

Yes my son does 1 day and it’s fine! He knows when we go and looks forward to the day x

This makes me feel so much better. Thank you ladies! 🥰 .. I’ve been reading so many posts and most are like don’t do less than 2 days and made me feel really guilty about wanting to put her in for one day only. You’ve given me the push to sign up xx

My son goes in 3 days a week & he loves it! He started with 3 half days then moved to 3 full days and has been doing that for a year

As a nursery worker myself I would definitely suggest more than just 1 day if possible as there’s always a long gap in between going back each time which can sometimes unsettle them especially if they are poorly and then off more than normal x

My son did one day a week for a year then I upped it to two a week. He’ll do three a week from September. He’s always been fine and he settled in really quickly despite only doing one day. Every child is different in that sense.

My daughter has been going for 1 day a week for over a year, and she loves it! She finds it super tiring though, so I am glad she’s not in FT. I like that she has some social interactions. She had no problem adjusting to nursery at all
