Do you take short men seriously when dating as an option?

I've dated short guys, I'm 5'3" and I've dated a guy shorter than me. I had no problems with it, it never affected the relationship. I'm married to a 6'4" guy now, and before him I was with someone who was average height. Short height has never affected my attraction, I prefer tall but I'm not turned off by shorter guys at all.

There is no need to feel for short guys cuz I don’t think short guys get overlooked. I know a ton of short men who have game and women are attracted to them. It’s like assuming that fat or overweight women get overlooked by men because they don’t fit the standard bt alot of times that’s not the case. I think being attractive comes with confidence. I think society wants ppl to think short men have no confidence cuz how cud they cuz they are short, & being short is unattractive right! It’s the same thing they do with fat women, ppl assume that an obese women have no confidence bt thats jus how society views those ppl it not necessarily how that person views themselves :)

@Jasmin I don’t feel that short guys nor big women have no confidence. I feel for short guys because I’ve witnessed numerous times them being judge for their height. I literally heard several women tell guys in person “you’re way too short” “I need a real man” etc etc. so again that’s why I feel for them. Just as you know a ton that don’t I know many that go through this. So much so that they keep themselves from dating at times. They feel that women don’t take them seriously and of course the insecurities set in. My relationship with the short guy didn’t get a chance to be what it could have due to his insecurities. He kept accusing me of wanting someone taller. That got old and nothing I could do to reassure him. I couldn’t take us seriously after that. It’s not like assuming anything about fat women. Weird reply and generalization.

Im 4’11” so it was really hard to find someone smaller than me 😅 I never thought about it until this post but ALL my boyfriends were over 6 feet 😂 Im married to a 6’4” man 🤭

I’m only 5ft 2in tall and all I’ve ever dated was short guys. I’ve also witnessed numerous times were their height is being judged not by me, bt my other women like urself. So I’m trying to tell u that women like urself do exist bt there are women like myself who exist as well & we don’t discriminate when it comes to height. My sister and my friends are all tall women and they don’t date any man shorter than them, they have turned down a lot of men because they were short even referring to them as midgets jus because these men don’t reach the height requirement in their standards. I’ve been made fun of for dating short men, bt I don’t care and neither do those guys cuz they know that jus because they don’t fit into the standards of society or what one woman deems attractive that doesn’t mean they overloooked by all women. They ARE NOT getting overlooked cuz there are plenty of women like myself who are still checking for them :)

@Jasmin For sure! If we organize everyone can get laid 😂 I have a friend that is extremely attracted to obese women, Im not talking fat, Im talking OBESE. All his girlfriends are obese and he loves it. Im happy that there is people to everyone 😌

@Ana Moore omg I just checked ur profile and the height difference is crazy. I’m a small woman myself & I love when I see women smaller than me lol cuz I don’t feel so alone lol and my Husband is over 6ft tall so I stand on my tip toes to kiss him. He is the first tall man I actually took seriously in dating & now he is my Husband bt I remember my sister (who always made fun of me for being short & dating short men) was so happy cuz she said I finally got a real man smh

I never actively searched for a specific height but the guy I ended up attracted to is a few inches taller than me. I’m not sure if the attraction would change if he was shorter. I think probably not

I wonder if not being attracted to short guys is because people think they aren’t masculine enough, or because being with a short guy makes women possibly feel less feminine

@Jasmin I get on my tip toes and my husband leans towards me to kiss 😂 I don’t think I have a height preference but for some reason I only had tall men approaching me lol Me and my husband still get ugly looks if I don’t have makeup on and Im wearing a dress. I get ID checked and everything 🥹

I've never really dated a man taller than 5'9. I've dated a man my height (I'm 5'3) and I can't say I really liked it

@Melanie I think this might be a lot of peoples thot process as well. I remember u made a post abt what ppl notice abt our kids a few weeks back. And it irks me so much that ppl compliment my son for being quote on quote “so tall” cuz not only are they stating the obvious & cuz he literally has no control over his height bt I also feel like they are confirming that he is indeed a “man” cuz he will fit into the stereotypes of what we deem masculine & ion like that

@Tiffany lol I totally understand this cuz once upon a time I dated a man that was shorter than me & my brothers who are like 7yrs younger than me. My brothers thot my bf was their age cuz he was the same height as they were. My brothers were so young they equated height with age and I think that’s when they learned that fact wasnt true. I laugh everytime I think abt it cuz my brothers legit thot my bf was a child

I used to have a really big thing for shorter guys for some reason but I always attracted guys were 5’11. My husband is about 5’9. I’m 5’1 and I used to be 5’2 before I got pregnant lmao

I'm 5'6 and my husband is 5'5. I have always preferred shorter guys I've only dated taller twice one was 6'2 and the other 7'4 and yes he was extremely tall I just stood tall enough to be at the bottom of his rib cage, every other guy I've been with has been shorter than me

At the end of the day being tall isn’t going to get you through the hard times with your partner. I’ve never understood the obsession with such shallow requirements

Im 5'1" and dated a guy who was 5'2" in highschool. It was always in the back of my mind and bothered me. I wouldn't mind if it was just about us, but i only dated with the intention of marriage and i worried for our kids if we got that far.

My husband is just barely taller than I am. I’m 5’2. He’s probably 5’4ish. I tower over him when I wear heels. Which is often.

I went from a 6’4 guy to a 5’5 guy I’m 5’4 but as soon as I put a heel on I was taller and hated it never again for me also the small feet thing is true 🤣🤣

lol I tried I entertained a few But I LOVE a big man I’m 5’8” I’m like short tall And when I do wear heels they’re typically 4+ inches But like I rarely wear heels lmao so the reality is that it doesn’t matter

@Jasmin I guess I’m just confused with your response because it’s like your implying that I feel they don’t get women at all. My godmother is a tall woman and married a short man. I know women who date short men. So I’m very much aware women love them too. I never said why do women not like short men. However I also had conversations with guys who are short and hate that they are. So I feel for them. Especially in our society. I just don’t understand why you felt you needed to tell me what you did. I honestly don’t get it. I don’t feel like anything I said required anything you said. That’s all. It’s my opinion and I was simply curious what other women thoughts were concerning short men. I actually never thought about height until I dated a guy shorter than me (I’m 5”2). We probably would have still been together if he didn’t mention his height all the time. He just didn’t accept me dating him for him. Even after that I never strayed away from short guys.

@Asha I’m curious. Did the short guys you dated mention their height a lot? The guy I dated did but we were quite young. He was 19 and I was 18.

@Jasmin that's funny that you mention that because I was thinking that as well about mentioning a boy's height! I honestly don't want to think of it that way and tried it but it just felt a bit off. I don't think I could do more than 3" shorter than me

I like a man to be bigger then me normally and whilst wearing heels if he ain’t gives me the ick also small feet = small todger 🫣🤣🤣

@ incognito i know it can be hard to be taken seriously and to find a partner as a short guy so i really had reservations getting serious with anyone short.
