Cold sores in 3 year old
Have any mommas 3 year olds gotten cold sores ? I may get one to three every year. But my daughter started getting one on Saturday. And I’ve been taking care of it, but she likes to touch her mouth and she’s continued to spread it on her lips. I’m wondering if I should just let it run its course or if I need to take her in. Any advice?
From what I was told when my boys were infants, is that if they have a cold sore for the first time, have them seen by the pediatrician. They can tell you what to do from there. As a word of caution for Mama's with smaller children (infant age), the Herpes Virus can be deadly, so make sure they get seen. It's not as bad for the 3yr old, but it has potential to spread or get worse. (This is information from a couple different pediatricians and my OB)
